Master Bedroom Reveal | a bright + airy retreat
Hi friends! Well it has been a hot minute since I’ve hit publish on a blog post! Last month was surely one of the craziest months of my life, with the birth of Molly (hoping to blog on that soon!) and all this quarantine craziness! I hope you all are holding up okay and that everyone is safe and healthy! All this staying at home did allow for a lot of progress on projects and allowed me to wrap up my master bedroom which I am thrilled to share with you all! Let’s get started!
Master Bedroom Before
The first thing I knew I needed to do was paint. Our entire house was this color yellow when we moved in, which several people love, but if you’re a cool toned gal like myself this color makes you cringe! Don’t take offense, it’s just me personally and my preferences! I painted the walls my favorite cool white, “Snow Day” by my favorite paint brand Clare Paint! You can read my review of their paints here.
Master Bedroom Mood Board
I drew inspiration from pillows I found on Caitlin Wilson, but was too cheap to pay the hefty price tag. I hunted high and low for similar fabrics and ended up finding some that fit my inspiration on Hawthorne Supply Co. and it only cost me $45 to make all 5 pillows! Another major inspiration piece was the rug from Well Woven. The rug I chose was their Arbor Moroccan Trellis in Dark Blue and it’s even more amazing in person!
The Reveal
Aside from painting a few other things were done, but all in all it wasn’t much!
- I thrifted lamps
- hung curtain hardware
- hemmed curtains with some simple hem tape
- mounted wood cutout words and florals
- placed rug beneath bed
- sewed new throw pillows
- placed new linens on bed // we received a set from Sol Organix and it is by far the comfiest bedding I have ever owned! I highly recommend if you’re in the market for new bedding!
Here’s a quick before and after of the thrifted lamps! Isn’t it amazing what a little spray paint will do!?
And without further ado…
